Inspiration

Pinterest has been a tool for inspiration that I have used consistently through this term. I have dedicated this section to all the inspiration I have gained from Pinterest :)

Macrame

I macramed for my final project. I have always wanted to try to macrame so I could hang it up in my cabin. As I have mentioned a numerous amount of times the importance that the west coast, specifically, Savary island means to me. Creating a macrame piece is more than creating an art piece, it resonates with me and my identity. I love the aesthetic of macrame, it fits into the boho / natural theme that I deeply love.

Collaborative Textiles

Chloe and I made dog and cat blankets to donate to the SPCA for our collaborative textiles project. I made 5 large blankets and Chloe made 9 small blankets.

Felting

Wet felting, nuno felting and needle felting were new skills I learned in this unit.

Weaving

I have learned how to weave with yarn and various natural materials that I have gathered from the beach.

Knitting

I am a new knitter and have found an utmost love for the craft of it. Knitting is way for me to meditate and feel prideful in the art that I produce from knitting.

Up-cycling

Up-cycling is a way to repurpose already existing items or materials. I have found a love for up-cycling with my own clothing and items, as well as thrifted items. Up-cycling functions as a way to unlock your creative side and produce something unique and authentic.

Embroidery

By using embroidery floss and an embroider hoop, I have created a variety of art pieces.
